Proudly serving the Claremore community for 27 years, J & J Pharmacy is much more than its name would suggest. In addition to housing a full-service ­pharmacy, the quaint store in the Ne-Mar Shopping Center has a vast array of gifts and home décor items, and, for the holiday season, a huge selection of Christmas items.  

    The store is adorned with numerous Christmas trees ­featuring an endless display of ornaments. Just as you enter the front door, you are greeted by a collection of Old World Christmas ornaments. Now through Christmas, any ­customer who buys two of these beautiful ornaments will get to pick out a third one for free.  

    Some of their best-selling items are Vera Bradley and the Tyler Candle collection. These are available year-round, but also make an excellent choice for Christmas. For the sports fan on your Christmas list, J & J has a large selection of OSU and OU merchandise including T-shirts, hoodies, scarves, decorations and Christmas ornaments.

    They’ve definitely got the ladies covered, with a great ­selection of Lily and Laura bracelets. Handcrafted by village women in Nepal, at $13.50 each or $11 each if three or more are purchased, the Lily and Laura bracelets offer a unique, ­inexpensive gift option for the jewelry lover in your life. “The Lily and Laura bracelets are huge right now. They are popular with all ages,” said store employee Mary Kate Bollman.

    For a truly exquisite gift, J & J has a great collection of Mark Roberts Fairies. The highly sought-after collectibles are ­individually numbered, and each one has its own unique flair. The famous line of Christmas fairies are inspired by the artist’s ­mother and her explanation to him as a child of how Santa does so much in just one night. “The Mark Roberts Fairies are ­something customers come back for each year,” said Mandi Pritchard, store manager. “Each one is themed to do a particular holiday job, from helping fill the stockings to making the poinsettias bloom. Our customers love to see what new fairies come out each year, and we love to help them build their collections.”

    One of the newest ­collections of items available in the store is the popular Sir Oliver’s Candles. The famous line of aromatic, hand-poured candles is available in a variety of exquisite finishes and accented with genuine Swarovski crystals. “The Sir Oliver’s Candles are beautiful and smell wonderful,” said Mary Kate.  “You can smell them when you walk into a room without them even being lit.”

    Owners John and Patsy Daniel opened J & J Pharmacy in October, 1985. John had been a pharmacist in Claremore for  10 years before starting his own venture. The husband and wife team have kept their pharmacy in the same location for all 27 years and pride themselves on earning loyal customers through quality service.
