Tile by Tony sells and installs ceramic tile, marble, granite tile, granite and quartz countertops, shower doors, hardwood flooring, and carpet. They offer commercial and residential service to all of Green Country.

“Kitchen and bath remodels have been very popular lately,” says owner Tony Sementi. “A lot of people are putting money into their houses rather than moving. We have a wonderful cabinetmaker who builds with all kinds of wood, and all our cabinets are custom built to fit your bathroom. Do-it-yourself sales have also increased. If you come in, you can get what you need to do the job yourself, and we’ll also give you the information and advice you need to do the job right.”

Tile by Tony specializes in remodeling kitchens and baths, but that isn’t all they do. “We tackle just about any project,” says Tony. “We offer a handyman service. We’ll do trim, garage conversions, sheet rock, closets and add-ons. We can also refer you to people who will do a good job on the few things we don’t do.”

Tony’s staff consists of a dozen people, including a plumber, an electrician, and a painter. “Our people are knowledgeable, professional and reliable. When we come into your home to do a job, we come as guests, to respect and take care of your home, to minimize the mess, and to stay on the job until it’s finished.”

Tile by Tony has been in business since 1982, and is a member of the Better Business Bureau, the Home Builders Association, and the Chamber of Commerce. Tony personally oversees every job they do. “I’ll go and visit with you, the homeowner, look at your remodeling goals, your budget and your options, so we can find the right product for your needs,” he says. “I’ll introduce you to our great crew. I check on each job site frequently, which helps keep things on schedule.”

Tony is always on the lookout for new and innovative products. “We have a new line of switchplate covers to match granite, and we have new shower doors with the ShowerGuard coating to prevent water spotting. Because space is always important in a bathroom, and most vanities have dead space where the pipes are, we’ve developed a vanity that maximizes the usable space,” he says. Tile by Tony also carries the Schluter line of waterproofing products, and they’re always expanding their impressive line of glass tile.  

One of Tile by Tony’s most innovative products is Mohawk SmartStrand, a tough, eco-friendly carpet made from corn. The carpet uses Sonora, DuPont’s renewably sourced polymer, which contains ingredients derived from corn sugar, a renewable resource. These ingredients replace ingredients that are traditionally made from petroleum. “The SmartStrand carpet is stain-proof and it’s almost indestructible,” says Tony. “You can even put household bleach on it and it won’t hurt the carpet.” DuPont engineers stain resistance into the carpet – it’s tough enough, in fact, that it survived two weeks in a rhinoceros enclosure at the Birmingham Zoo.
