Owner, Mike Rifai and Oneta Station’s famous hand-breaded chicken-fried steak and homemade cobbler.
In the early 1900s, there was once a small town in Wagoner County called Oneta. Records show that a post office stood at the junction near Oneta Road and old highway 51 between Coweta and Broken Arrow, between the years of 1905-1922. It is said there once stood a train station to accommodate travelers on the railroad at this spot. Today, Oneta Station Diner welcomes visitors from far and near with hearty, delicious comfort food and warm, friendly service.
Located in the Oneta Station Square shopping center, the diner opened in October 2018. The owner, Mike Rifai, has an extensive background in restaurant ownership with many popular establishments under his belt. He began at the famous Celebrity Club in Tulsa in 1980. For nine years, he made it his mission to learn as much as he could, working his way through the ranks to management.
Many of his loyal customers have followed him on his journey to Oneta Station. “I love my customers,” said Mike. “We make it a point to get to know them, and we treat them like family.” The proof is in the feedback they receive from their loyal fans. “When you see the same customers keep coming back,” said Mike, “you know you’re doing
something right.”
The diner is filled with charm from the moment you walk through the door. Staff members are warm and friendly. Guests can have a seat at the counter, or a comfortable booth or table. Customer service is priority No. 1 for Mike. He prides himself on getting to know his customers by face and name. “My philosophy is this: Don’t ever give customers a reason to be unhappy,” he said. “They left their home, they passed all the other competition to come to me, and I have to take care of them and treat them right.”
Breakfast served all day with only the freshest ingredients.
The restaurant is famous for its hand-breaded chicken-fried steak with all the fixings. Everything on the menu is made from scratch with the freshest ingredients, including big-as-your-face homemade cinnamon rolls, made fresh daily.
A selection of homemade fruit cobblers served with ice cream is the best possible way to finish a hearty, tasteful meal. “I get the most pleasure when my customers say the food is amazing or the service is incredible,” Mike said. “We work hard to provide the best in homestyle cooking.”
Classic daily specials such as meatloaf, stroganoff, beef tips, or lasagna are available as well as breakfast served all day, including fantastic omelets, and their famous chicken-fried steak with eggs, all at reasonable prices. The diner soon plans to offer steak and lobster specials every Friday night. Specials and latest news can be found on their Facebook page @onetastationdiner. For more information call (918) 252-0695.
