Rotary Rooster Egg Hunt 2024

Popular Event Kicks Off May 7, 2024

By: Janie Green | Category: In Our Communities | Issue: May 2024

The annual Rooster Egg Hunt, which has an avid following of Egg Seekers, is a tradition dating back over 30 years in the Broken Arrow community. Formerly organized by the BA Chamber of Commerce, this popular pre-Rooster Days event is now organized by the Rotary Club of Broken Arrow. The Egg will be hidden in a publicly accessible location in Broken Arrow and will be packaged with instructions on how to contact the Rotary Club to authenticate the find.

How does the Rooster Egg Hunt work?

Beginning Tuesday, May 7, 2024, this year’s Bonus Clue Sponsor, J. David Jewelry www.jdavidjewelry.com will post the weekday clues first at 10 a.m., plus an exclusive Saturday clue available nowhere else. The Rotary Club of Broken Arrow www.barotary.org and the BA Chamber https://brokenarrowchamber.com will post the weekday clues at noon on their social media and websites. These clues will gradually reveal the location of the hidden “Rooster Egg” until it is found.

J. David Jewelry is also this year’s Egg Artistry Sponsor. Although design details are kept under wraps, this year’s Egg promises to be like none other, past or future!

What does the Finder of the Rotary Rooster Egg win?

The Finder of the Rotary Rooster Egg will ride in the Rooster Day Parade on Saturday, May 18th, and will receive the $1000 cash prize afterwards on stage at the Rooster Days Festival in Central Park in Broken Arrow. A representative from the Museum Broken Arrow will be present to receive the Rooster Egg as a donation to their collection of 29 wood, ceramic, and plastic Rooster Eggs, hand painted by various artists in the community.

Net proceeds from the sponsors’ donations will go right back into our community in the forms of grants and scholarships. For more information about the Rotary Club of Broken Arrow or the Rooster Egg Hunt, call or text the Rooster Egg Hunt Chair, Janie Green at (918) 629-0525.
