Harps Foods of Inola, Chelsea, and Locust Grove have partnered with Safenet Services in their fourth annual Round Up campaign.
“We are so happy to partner with Harps in this effort,” says Rose Ann McCaw-Ransom, Safenet board member and Round Up chair. “We appreciate their support and enthusiasm. They are an employee-owned business and the employees really take pride in helping raise money for Safenet.”
During the month of August Safenet Services, domestic abuse shelter for Mayes and Rogers County, asks the community to donate change or “round up” the amount of your purchase at participating partner businesses to help break the cycle of abuse.
“People don’t think that their change can make a difference, but last year our Round Up campaign raised nearly $1,200,” says Donna Grabow, Safenet’s Executive Director.
This annual campaign was added four years ago as a stability campaign after Safenet moved into a new facility.
“Our facility allows us to shelter 35 women and children who are escaping a violent situation. This campaign helps us with everyday expenses like electricity, water, and food for 35 people three times per day,” says Grabow.
Harps has 80 stores in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri and has plans to add 16 stores in 2016. The company’s strategy has been to differentiate itself from the competition based on quality, service, and freshness at competitive prices.
Safenet Services strives to create a healthy, support environment for women and families healing from the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault by offering free and confidential services for victims residing in Rogers and Mayes counties. Services offered include our 24 hour crisis line, 35-bed domestic abuse shelter, counseling and parenting education, protective order assistance, and victim advocacy. Round up houses are placed at The Amish Cheese House & Bakery, The Dutch Pantry and Safenet’s Second Impressions resale stores.
