Safenet Services is gearing up for their newest fundraiser, the Safenet Summit. This one-of-a-kind fundraiser follows a small group of dedicated individuals as they climb the tallest mountain in Colorado, Mount Elbert, to raise funds for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Although the Safenet Summit was created to signify the journey victims take to become a survivor, it is also bridging a major funding gap.
This year, the Victims of Crime Act, one of Safenet’s largest funders, will receive a 41% cut that will impact small, rural victim service providers like Safenet. In efforts to spread awareness and increase community involvement, Safenet will also be holding a local Take a Hike Day to support the Safenet Summit climbers as they reach their summit on Mount Elbert. The hike will be held on Aug. 4 at the Claremore Mountain Bike Trails (Happy Lake) from 8 – 10 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to take pictures, as well as bring their friends and/or dogs to join them on this self-guided hike to support a great cause.
