Allergy ailments abound this time of year, and the Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy Center in Claremore is responding to this growing need for care by expanding its staff.

“Most of our patients call when they are sick and need to be seen fairly quickly. Many are already miserable when they make the call, and if they can’t get in for two to six weeks the symptoms have generally multiplied to an unbearable state, which is unacceptable,” explained Dr. Mark Welch.

Dr. Welch’s genuine concern for his patients led him to search nationwide for another premiere nurse practitioner to include on his team. With the addition of Laurel Molini, both established and new patients are being seen by the doctor within the week that they call, and several are seen the same day or day after.

Laurel brings with her eight years of experience, a love for education and an energetic spirit. Her experience focuses on diagnostics and patient education. As a family practice nurse practitioner, she has a broad knowledge of comprehensive adult and pediatric health care. Additionally, Laurel’s board certification in family practice gives her license to treat children and oversee their allergy treatment programs.

Laurel’s philosophy is directly in line with Dr. Welch’s approach to medicine. “She has the desire and ability to concentrate on holistic care for patients across the lifespan,” he said.

According to nurse practitioner Andrea Wall, who has been at the Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy Center since 2006, one of the primary responsibilities of her and Laurel’s job is to spend time with the patients, educating them on their illness, allergy, treatment plan or pending surgery. “I enjoy patient education – helping patients learn to manage their medication and symptoms, as well as develop a diet plan to make the most of their treatment, is very rewarding,” she said.

Andrea has a true teacher’s heart. She enjoys working through any questions, anxieties or life changes of the patients, so that they completely understand their treatment programs. Andrea continues to implement educational services at the center, and she is currently working to begin patient education classes. “This is exciting because it will empower our patients to begin taking control and become pro-active in managing their health issues,” said Andrea.

“Both Andrea’s and Laurel’s experience and collaborative efforts ensure the continuity of quality care of our patients,” said Dr. Welch.

The center’s staff also includes Karrie J. Cuttler, doctor of audiology. She is a board certified, state licensed audiologist with 11 years of experience in hearing evaluation and rehabilitation. Dr. Cuttler has vast amounts of experience in testing people of all ages – infants, children, adults and seniors – and enjoys teaching patients about hearing loss, hearing safety, and improved standard of living for hearing loss sufferers.

At the Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy Center, Dr. Cuttler offers comprehensive hearing evaluations and hearing aid services for children and adults, testing and treatment for dizziness and balance disorders, and auditory brainstem response testing for pediatric hearing threshold estimation. Her other services include neurodiagnostic evaluations and custom ear molds for swimming, noise protection and cellular phones.
