The Rogers County Health Department is excited to announce its fourth annual ShamROCKIN’ Family Fun Day on Friday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Claremore Community Center, 2301 N Sioux. This free event will feature family-friendly activities, educational opportunities, and giveaways. The first 50 participants will receive a complimentary gift!

Participants will have the chance to:

  • Learn about Rogers County Health Department programs, services, and fitness and community wellness initiatives.
  • Explore booths from local businesses and organizations.
  • Enjoy delicious treats from local food vendors.
  • Participate in games, crafts, and entertainment for all ages.
  • Win exciting prizes during the event.

Adding to the entertainment, Bart Taylor, aka Buckaroo Bart, from the Will Rogers Memorial Museum, will showcase a live demonstration of rope tricks, paying tribute to the legendary Will Rogers.

In addition, car and booster seat inspections and installations will be available on-site. Car and booster seats will be available at no cost for qualified applicants while supplies last, and no appointment is required.

Blood Drive

The Oklahoma Blood Institute will be on-site for blood donations. Those interested in donating can schedule an appointment in advance at OBI.org. All donors will receive a Lotto Pot O' Gold scratcher with a chance to win a $50 or $100 Visa Gift Card or other fun prizes!

Drug Take Back

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) is offering a safe and convenient way to dispose of unneeded or expired prescription medications. To help prevent misuse, OBN will collect pill-form medications for proper disposal. Please note that liquids, needles, and inhalers cannot be accepted.

Hidden In Plain Sight

Parents will also be able to explore the Hidden in Plain Sight exhibit. Hidden In Plain Sight simulates a teenager’s bedroom, in which we have placed several items that may indicate that the teen is using tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs or is engaging in behavior that could lead to such use. Some things are obvious, some are well-hidden, and some are sitting in plain sight.
