Shepherd’s Cross Approved as Farmer’s Market Hub

Oklahoma has a new Farmer’s Market Style, the Farmer’s Market Hub, and Shepherd’s Cross is a Hub, providing local home-grown products from many homesteaders, farmers, and ranchers all year. 

Shepherd’s Cross is recruiting gardeners, farmers, ranchers, and homestead consignors to expand selection in the Farm Store. They are looking for locally and sustainably grown produce, fruit, food products, and flowers as well as local handmade baked goods and canned goods. Those interested can call or drop-by the Farm Storefor more information. An application may be found online at https://shepherdscross.com/farm-store.html or picked up in-person.

Shepherd’s Cross Farm Store

Shepherd’s Cross Farm Store is located indoors, and is air-conditioned and heated. The current expansion project will allow for additional space for refrigeration and freezers. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 – 5:30, year-round (closed some holidays).

Products currently available in the Farm Store include in-season produce, eggs, honey, meats, jams and jellies, vanilla extract, wool products and hand-crafted items. They accept a wide variety of payment methods, inclujding cash, card, Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SNAP, EBT, SFMNP, and Cherokee Nation WIC

Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility and a Made in Oklahoma Company that processes Animal Welfare Approved meat (lamb and beef) as well as fiber (chemical free, hormone free, free range, all natural). The Market at Shepherd’s Cross is OK Grown. Shepherd’s Cross even hosts a mini wool mill, processing wool from their own sheep, raised on site.

Heart of the Shepherd

Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm and works to establish wool mills and flocks in remote, impoverished areas around the world. Heart of the Shepherd teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming, and gardening.
