Spring is blooming, and now is the time to stock up on gifts for upcoming graduations, weddings, baby showers and birthday parties. The Glenpool Spring Market, sponsored by King of Kings Lutheran Church, will feature artisans of hand-crafted items and independent home-based businesses from all over the Tulsa metropolitan area. Visitors will enjoy shopping for handmade craft items, candles, jewelry, home-baked goods, and much more. Donations at the door (disinfectant wipes, Kleenex, or $1) will benefit The Little Light House in Tulsa. All profits will support local, national and international missions.
The Spring Market will be held at the Glenpool Conference Center on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Conference Center is located at 12205 S. Yukon Ave. (Exit Highway 75 at 121st Street, go west about a half mile and turn south onto Yukon.)
A total of 60 vendors will be selling a huge variety of items, including Miche Bags and accessories, Avon products, kitchenware from The Pampered Chef, health supplements and skinny wraps from It Works, Stella & Dot Jewelry, Birdhouses by Mark, onesies and hats for newborns by Netherton, marinades and sauces from Spanish Jack’s Fine Foods, Scentsy products, and a lot more. In addition, King of Kings Lutheran Church members will have a booth of delectable home-baked goods for purchase.
Servants of the King, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) of King of Kings Lutheran Church, host the Spring Market each year. “This is our third year at the Glenpool Conference Center, and we are so grateful that the expanded space has allowed our market to grow and offer more support for missions,” said President Vicki Wing. In the past, the group has supported Joplin tornado relief, King of Kings’ annual live nativity, Freedom House, Meals on Wheels, Glenpool Outreach Center, and missions in Africa.
“This year we are thrilled to be supporting an amazing nonprofit Christian organization that relies solely on donations, The Little Light House,” said Pat Bartley, LWML secretary. According to their website, the mission of The Little Light House is to glorify God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families, and their communities. They offer tuition-free services to children with special needs up to 6 years old. Their year-round program provides highly individualized educational and therapeutic services which include physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, assistive technology, low vision therapy, nursing, and special education. Net profits of the Spring Market will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial, a faith-based membership organization that strives to help members act wisely with money and inspires them to live generously.
Visitors are always welcome to King of Kings Lutheran Church at 14023 S. Casper St. in Glenpool on Sundays. Worship service with Pastor Rick Tabisz is at 9 a.m. and Sunday school is at 10:30.
Make plans for a great day of shopping at the Glenpool Spring Market on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and don’t forget to bring a donation of disinfectant wipes, Kleenex, or $1 to help support The Little Light House.
