Did you know the human body is made up of trillions of cells? It’s a question posed by Rose Strawser, owner of Riverbend Nutrition. According to Rose, the body also loses and remakes 100 million cells each day. “At the end of 7 years, you have replaced every cell in your body, except for your eyeballs and part of your brain. If you are making 100 million cells a day, it’s a good idea to know what those cells are made of.”
Rose is just the person to help you figure that out. As both a certified natural health professional and a certified phlebotomy technician, Rose has a passion for helping her clients achieve maximum health through proper nutrition.
For over 10 years, Rose and her husband Michael Stawser, a chemist, have been providing the community with the highest quality vitamins and mineral supplements available. “We started our business because we were trying to eat fresh foods and be health-conscious, and then we’d walk in a store for vitamins and find they were two years old. It didn’t make sense to me to eat fresh food and take stale vitamins,” said Rose.
Not all vitamins are created equal, even when they are brand new. Michael creates the supplements at Riverbend’s onsite lab from the freshest, purest ingredients available. Small batches of vitamins are packaged so that they go from the lab to customers as quickly as possible. “We make every single thing in the store fresh, every month. The only way to get something fresher is to make it yourself,” Rose explains.
Rose uses a dried blood cell analysis as a screening tool. After a simple finger prick, drops of blood are placed on a slide. When the drops dry, they form specific patterns. Rose analyzes these patterns, looking for potential deficiencies, toxic-heavy metal deposits, parasite infestations and PH imbalances. Rose then makes recommendations of certain vitamins and minerals to address your nutritional needs. Although the analysis is not used to diagnose medical ailments, it is a very useful screening tool for nutritional needs, and the process takes only about an hour. Rose discusses the results in detail with her clients, and the cost for this screening is only $40.
Riverbend also offers blood typing, iridology, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose screening. Rose points out that as people are making New Year’s resolutions and looking for ways to lose weight and become healthier, it’s easy to fall prey to exaggerated claims. “We don’t deal in fads, only products that have been demonstrated scientifically to work. We weed through the marketing schemes and bring you only products that will give you the desired results.”
The Stawsers work with Bill Fitzhugh, doctor of naturopathy, and James Hodson, M.D., and Rose will be happy to work with your healthcare provider to customize a nutritional plan for you. The great thing about buying directly from manufacturer is that Riverbend is able to offer the great prices and proprietary formulas that are not available anywhere else. Rose has custom blends to help with depression, appetite suppression, and liver repair and immune support, just to name a few.
