Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma in Tulsa announces our 2023 Taste of Tulsa gala on Friday, May 5 at 6:00 PM at the Cox Convention Center, Grand Hall. McElroy Manufacturing, Inc. is returning as our long-time presenting sponsor, and Dave and Michele Hughes of McElroy are chairing this year’s event.
Taste of Tulsa unites community leaders with our mission, and we’d like to invite you to join us for an evening of taste and sips from more than 30 of Tulsa’s finest restaurants. Proceeds benefit the ongoing work to ignite the power and promise of youth through mentorship.
Both Dave and Michele agree that chairing this fantastic event aligns with their sense of purpose and desire to give back to the Tulsa community. Michele Hughes states: “When we were asked to chair Taste of Tulsa, we said yes without hesitation. Not just because it is a great event but because we believe every child that needs a Big Brother or Big Sister in the Tulsa area deserves one! Currently there are 86 kids in Tulsa waiting to be matched. BBBSOK needs funding and mentors to make these relationships possible. Please join us in making matches a reality.”
Dave was a Big Brother when he was in college. His little was 8 years old, and he still remembers his Little Brother’s joy when they got together. They went bowling, to the arcade, to the movies, or just out for pizza. They had fun, and Dave knows it made an impact to the child and his mother.
We call on leaders, organizations, and restaurants to join us in making a difference in the lives of children in the Tulsa area. Go to tasteoftulsa.org for more information on how you can get involved.
