Dale and Rosie Wills, owners of Domino’s in Owasso, Sapulpa, Sand Springs and West Tulsa, met when they were young’uns working together at a Pizza Inn. He was shift runner and she was a waitress. The two married in 1984 and as Dale says, they are “still having fun” over 30 years later.
The couple opened their first Domino’s franchise in Sapulpa in August of 1994. Their newest store is scheduled to open toward the end of December at 51st and 33rd West Avenue in Tulsa. “One of the things that really sets us apart from a lot of businesses is that we are family owned and operated,” said Josh Wills, the couple’s son and a store manager. “I’ve been training for this job since I was 5!” Dale and Rosie’s daughter Jenny is an employee at the Sand Springs location. Their other daughter Megan is a student at OSU.
The family is excited about the recent redesign of their Sapulpa and Owasso locations to a “pizza theater” concept. The West Tulsa store will be completed with the design later this month. The redesign features open-kitchens – including a step platform for children – that enable guests to watch pizza-making artists tossing dough and creating pizzas. The comfortable lobby areas offer dine-in seating and chalkboards for customers to express their creativity or leave feedback for the store team. “This is an exciting new time for Domino’s. We believe the pizza theater concept will bring in new customers and help us retain our many loyal customers,” said Dale.
The Domino’s menu features pizzas available in five different crusts - hand-tossed (small, medium, large), thin crust (medium and large), deep dish (medium only), and Brooklyn (large only), as well as a small gluten free crust. Other options include tasty sandwiches, pastas, boneless chicken and wings, soft drinks, and don’t forget the most important part of any meal – dessert! The newest option for those with a sweet tooth is the Marbled Cookie Brownie, a warm and gooey blend of milk chocolate chunk cookie and fudge brownie that melts in your mouth.
In addition to offering customers delicious food everyone in the family loves, Domino’s has long been a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In December, for every Game Day deal purchased, which includes two medium one-topping pizzas, a Marbled Cookie Brownie, and a two-liter for $19.99, Domino’s will donate $1 to St. Jude.
Stop in to your local Domino’s and witness the friendly, easygoing atmosphere of the family-run operation for yourself. “We have an excellent management team that includes Jake Harris in Sapulpa, Jordan Hines in Owasso, Chris Rodriguez in Sand Springs, and Jamal Honor in West Tulsa,” said Josh. “We’re happy to be here to serve you great food with a smile.”
