There’s a New Crew in Town

The Insurance Crew’s new Glenpool location offers a variety of insurance coverage at desirable prices.

What initially began as a health agency, The Insurance Crew found its start with the upheaval in the market. Identifying a need to diversify and expand, Dirk Hunter and his partner, Shane Allbee, worked for four years to establish all A-rated carriers in Oklahoma. Their customer-first insurance agency soon thrived in Tulsa, and Dirk decided it was time to come home. He and Shane have officially opened the doors to The Insurance Crew’s second location, conveniently located in Glenpool off Highway 75 and West Main. The Insurance Crew boasts the best prices on a variety of insurance policies.  

    The Insurance Crew is an independent agency that understands that insurance is not a one-size-fits-all business. “I recently quoted home insurance to a customer and found a $50 to $800 difference in savings for the same coverage on the same house,” Shane explains. “This is what sets us apart from other carriers: we shop around for our clients.” They work with Travelers, Progressive, Safe Co, MetLife and many others to bring clients individualized health, auto, home, life and ­commercial insurance.  

    Not to be confused with a brokerage house, The Insurance Crew houses agents who value customer relations. “Clients always have an agent; so anytime you call, you talk to and discuss your policy with your agent. Being an independent insurance agency allows us to negotiate and find the insurance that is best suited to our customers’ needs. If the situation demands it, we adjust coverage and companies to meet their changing needs,” Shane clarifies.   

    Both Dirk and Shane come from professional backgrounds that have truly aided in the ­establishment and success of The Insurance Crew. Dirk, a licensed chiropractor, is a ­customer advocate and specialist with workers’ compensation, risk management, and medical billing and codes. Shane has an MBA and worked as a controller for 15 years; his attention to numbers and details has proven invaluable in the insurance field.  

    It is these diverse backgrounds that make Dirk and Shane so successful, and they understand the value of ­customer education. “Nobody wants to read a 50-page insurance policy, but we understand that there is important information that ­doesn’t jump out at the average consumer. We believe it is ­important to impart this ­knowledge to our customers,” says Shane.
