They sell and install ceramic tile, marble and granite tile, granite and quartz countertops, framed and frameless shower doors, carpet, and hardwood flooring. “I’ve been doing Tile by Tony since 1982,” says owner Tony Sementi. “Prior to that, I did a three-year apprenticeship. I got into the tile business out of necessity, really. My dad was a contractor, and I needed a job. He referred me to a construction company that did tile work. It was eye-opening; it spoke to me. I love doing tile.” Tile by Tony has been at its current location on Highway 66 in Catoosa for seven years. Tile by Tony features a newly expanded showroom that’s more than doubled in size.

“I oversee each job that we do,” says Tony. “I go and visit with you, the homeowner, see what you want to achieve with your remodel, see what your budget is, and look at your options with you. I’ll help you find the right product for your needs. I’ll also introduce our crew to the homeowner, and I lay out the job beforehand with them. Often I’ll go by the job site once a day and check on things. And I help homeowners with their questions. This all helps keep the job on schedule.

“At some places, the salespeople don’t know about installation. Here, we blend sales with installation, so you work with people who are knowledgeable about every step of the job. Our people are professional and reliable, and we work directly with the homeowners. When you come to do a job, you’re in that person’s home, as a guest. We tread softly, respect and take care of their home, and minimize the mess. That’s our forte. And once we start a job, we stay on it until it’s finished.”

Over time, Tile by Tony has expanded what they do. “We have experienced, qualified and licensed people,” says Tony. “We do the plumbing and the electrical work in-house – we do every part of the remodel. That cuts the job time down and it’s more efficient for the homeowner, because you only have to deal with one person.”

Tile by Tony has also expanded into carpet and hardwood flooring. “We have just about every kind of hardwood, engineered wood, and laminate flooring,” says Tony. “We’ve got some you can get pre-stained and pre-finished – that gives you a no-mess install, and you can have it installed and walk on it the same day, with no chemical odors. It also has a 25-year warranty.”

Tile by Tony can help you get caught up with the latest style trends. “Something that’s coming up in popularity is the Portofino marble slab showers,” says Tony. “This is a groutless shower. It’s similar in cost to cultured marble, but it gives you a classier look, very much like natural stone.”

Tony has helpful opinions on countertops, too. “Most of the time, granite is your best option for countertops,” says Tony. “In the last few years, the price of granite has plummeted because of supply and competition. It’s now very affordable. It’s the best choice for a kitchen remodel. When you have it in your home, that’s a selling point. I love real granite – the natural colors, the movement in the stone, the durability, the look and the shine. You can’t beat it. It will improve your lifestyle, and you’ll enjoy having it.”
