Tuesdays in the Park

ARTSOK the Regional Arts Alliance of Broken Arrow

By: Janie Green | Category: In Our Communities | Issue: May 2022

Tuesdays in the Park is a long-running success for arts in Broken Arrow. Tuesday evenings in June a musical performance is presented on an outdoor stage in Central Park. The grassy slope of the park provides an excellent amphitheater for the crowds relaxing and listening and dancing. Tuesdays in the Park is free to attend and appropriate for families.

The Rose District in Downtown Broken Arrow offers visitors a great opportunity to spend extra time shopping, dining and enjoying the vibrant community. USA Today has listed the Rose District as Oklahoma’s entry for “Charming Main Streets Across the US”, so don’t miss the chance to check out all the latest additions before the concert.

Music lovers are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs to listen as they enjoy a variety of food vendors who donate a portion of profits to ARTSOK to support this event. All other expenses are funded by donors and grants. This year’s vendors include Broken Arrow Civitans’ famous hamburgers, Stu-B-Que and Kettlemasters. Attendance ranges from 350 adults to 650, but there is room in the park for more.

Music is selected for variety of style and presentation talent. Regional musical groups are eager to play one of the Tuesday evening concerts which draw people from all over. This year’s events each begin at 7pm with food trucks opening by 6:30.

June 7 features the pop/rock dance music of Zodiac, who always draw a crowd of dancing children in front of the stage.

The fabulous smooth jazz of Grady Nichols, who has a a reputation as a gifted musician and excellent showman, is on June 14.

The Hi-Fi Hillbillies play the best rock & roll dance music, like Elvis Presley, The Ventures, The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding and so much more on June 21.

You are guaranteed to have fun with the HomeSkillet’s “all-90s, all the time” show full of your favorite hits from the best decade in music on June 28.

We appreciate the City of Broken Arrow, The Flower Company, Nature Guard and AVB as major event donors and all the other supporters of ARTSOK and Tuesdays in the Park.
