Are you feeling a little 4-walled about your insurance coverage? With Medicare insurance? Your auto, home, health and life insurance?  For many policy holders, 2024 has been ushered in with insurance rate increase as high as 30% to 40%…and in some cases prices have doubled.  More than in years past, now is probably the best time to take a strong hard look at all your coverages and get an annual review.  You can rely on unbiased help from Abrina & Alex Tarasenko, owners of Everything Insurance Group in Tulsa (AKA Medicare Enroll USA). They serve clients statewide by offering unbiased solutions to all their insurance coverage needs, with a deep focus on Medicare coverage issues and developments.

Medicare Special Enrollment Periods

Do you qualify for a “SPECIAL ELECTION” in the middle of the year?

“You can make changes to your Medicare Advantage and Medicare drug coverage when certain events happen, like if you move or lose other coverage. These chances to make changes are called Special Enrollment Periods.  The types of changes you can make, and the timing depend on your life event.  “We can help guide you the process if you have questions or need help making enrollment changes,” said Alex.

What are some of the qualifying events?
  • You moved to a new address that isn’t in your current plan service area.
  • You moved to a new address that’s still in your plan’s service area, but you have new plan options in your new location.
  • You just moved into, currently live in, or just moved out of an institution (like a skilled nursing facility or long-term care hospital).
  • You are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
  • You qualify for EXTRA HELP paying for Medicare prescription drug coverage.
  • You are enrolled in a State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (SPAP).
  • You are enrolled in a State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (SPAP) and you lost SPAP eligibility.
  • You have a severe or disabling condition, and there’s a Medicare Chronic Care Special Needs Plan (SNP) available that serves people with a heart condition or diabetes type 1 or 2.
  • You are no longer eligible for Medicaid.  Over 300,000 Oklahoma residents lost their eligibility in 2023.
  • You left coverage from your employer or union (including COBRA coverage).
  • You are enrolling in other drug coverage as good as Medicare drug coverage (like TRICARE or VA coverage).  Some available plans have benefits that TRICARE does not pay for.

Auto, Health, Home & More Coverages

Alex noted, “During 2022 Oklahoman’s experienced an average insurance premium increases of about 16%.  In 2023, we have seen a whopping 32% average increase.  He assures you that YOU ARE NOT STUCK.

At Everything Insurance Group, we represent multiple insurance suppliers. We work hard and dig the deepest to uncover every opportunity to save our clients money on all their insurance needs. We find at 3 out of 4 client’s significant savings.”

Whether or not you are happy with your current carriers and premiums it’s still a good idea to have an annual review meeting with your agent to update coverages and address any potential changes.
