As summer’s end comes into view, families begin to focus on back-to-school checklists. In the chaos of shopping for clothes and supplies, it is important to remember to bring the kids to their annual eye exam. After all, being able to clearly see the teacher is crucial to successful learning!
Dr. Abby Overstreet-Hogle and her staff at Advanced Vision Center and Eyewear Boutique make the entire process of children eye exams convenient, effective and fun.
Located in Claremore at 860 S. Lynn Riggs Blvd. near Eggbert’s, Advanced Vision Center is visible from the highway – even if your prescription is outdated. Upon entry, it is plain to see Dr. Overstreet-Hogle’s Eyewear Boutique has it all. Greeted by cheery, knowledgeable staff, patients are encouraged to relax and peruse the vast selection of frames on display.
The 4,600-square-foot building features five exam rooms, a contact lens fitting room and a specialty testing room where retinal imaging services are performed. The lobby, meticulously decorated by Dr. Overstreet-Hogle herself, boasts an open layout that makes it easy to find and compare frames while keeping tabs on kids. With a large selection of children’s frames and a designated kids’ corner with coloring books and a DVD player for entertainment, parents can feel confident their visit will be low-stress, entertaining and productive. Advanced Vision carries the finest brands in eyewear, including Oakley, Nike, Guess, Coach and many more. There is even a bargain section, featuring stylish frames at reduced prices.
Inside the exam room, Dr. Overstreet-Hogle combines the latest in optometry technology with attention to patient needs. Flat screens mounted on the wall can serve as eye charts one moment and presentations the next. For young children, the standard eye chart can be switched to one featuring shapes, rather than letters. While in some cases technology means a less personal visit, the same cannot be said for visits to Advanced Vision Center. Dr. Overstreet-Hogle specialized in pediatric optometry during her time at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She prides herself in taking the time to educate parents about their children’s eyes. With the wave of a remote, she can pull up digital images of the patient’s eyes and explain in detail what is affecting their vision. Her careful attention to detail and ability to utilize this technology means that patients get the best possible care.
Advanced Vision Center is also equipped to handle emergency and minor eye injury care for all ages. So, in the unfortunate event a child suffers an injury on the playground or sports field, at least they can be taken to a doctor they already know and trust for treatment.
Open late on Tuesdays late, Advanced Vision offers evening appointment availability for parents who prefer to schedule exams after work or school. Plus, they accept Medicare and Soonercare in addition to most medical and vision insurance plans, including Cigna, Humana, VSP, Aetna, Community Care and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Don’t wait to schedule eye exams for your family. One visit will prove that Advanced Vision Center is one of the best in the region.
