Shelia says the family business, Mother Nature’s Lawn & Pest Control, is number one for fighting termites and other pests.
Swarming termites are a sight that makes even a grown man shudder. And it’s a fact that when warmer spring weather delivers us from winter, termites begin swarming. But, there is a way to eliminate them and the disastrous damages they cause to homes and property. Mother Nature’s Lawn & Pest Control and the Sentricon product they use is possibly the best defense ever known against pesky termites.
As soon as you begin seeing signs of blooming daffodils and tulips, be assured that the eggs of termites are hatching and swarms of flying destruction are soon to follow. Theresa Angel, Vice President of Mother Nature’s, tells us that there are four types of termites: kings, queens, workers and soldiers. The termite swarms we see in the spring of each year consist of only the kings and queens, whose sole purpose in life is to ferret out new terrain in which to begin fresh termite colonies.
The sole purpose of soldier termites is to fight to the death defending their queen. Only the worker termites are the damaging wood eaters. They leave their colonies and head out to find food, whereupon they gorge themselves and return to the colonies to regurgitate their wood meal in a pulp form that feeds the rest of the colony’s inhabitants. A typical colony may contain a population from the hundreds to millions. Queens have been known to live for as many as 25 to 50 years and can grow to about the size of your thumb.
The Sentricon System is guaranteed by the manufacturer to kill termite colonies and protect your home from future infestations. The Sentricon System will not harm children, adults or pets as it effectively eliminates 100 percent of a termite colony. Theresa says it’s a fact that termites do more damage each year than fires, earthquakes and storms combined. In the United States alone, they attack more than 5 million homes annually. The only state that is not troubled with termites is Alaska. Because termites, literally, never stop eating, they can inflict severe damage to your property in short order. And, you might be surprised to learn that homeowners’ insurance rarely covers termite damage. If you see flying termites inside your home this spring, good advice is to vacuum them up as quickly as possible and give Mother Nature’s a call.

Mother Nature’s Lawn & Pest Control is a successful, family owned and operated business. As you’re driving around the Tulsa area, you’ve likely seen their billboards featuring Theresa’s daughter, Sheila, who has become a spokesperson for Mother Nature’s. Theresa refers to her daughter as “our company’s billboard beauty.” In addition to their outdoor advertising campaign, you may have also heard one of the company’s weekly radio shows, “The Home Improvement Show” on KRMG radio or “House Talk” on KFAQ 1170 AM. Both shows are Saturday morning features. Mother Nature’s also has a “racing fleet” of trucks frequently seen around Green Country neighborhoods. Each truck represents a NASCAR vehicle and driver. “Mother Nature’s races to please our customers,” says Theresa.
In addition to offering protection to homeowners from termites, Mother Nature’s also treats interiors and exteriors for all types of bugs and insects including fleas, ticks, ants and bedbugs. In recent years, there has been a real insurgence of bedbugs in Tulsa and adjoining communities, and they are very difficult to rid from your home.
One of the latest additions to the fleet is a bright red-orange Mother Nature’s Pest Control & Wildlife truck. The company now specializes in removing critters including snakes, squirrels, birds, rodents, bats, skunks, armadillos, and other damage-causing pests and wildlife. The new service could save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars by removing the threat of damage these animals can do to your home or property.
