Why do we vote for one person rather than another? Is it their reputation for honesty and integrity in our community?  Is it the common ground they share with us?  Is it our confidence that they have the ability to achieve results?  People tend to vote for candidates who are superlative at the following tasks:

  • Bringing new perspectives and ideas.
  • Be willing to collaborate and provide options.
  • Have confidence in their ability to get results.
  • Listen, really listen, to constituents.
  • Have a full understanding of what needs to be done to improve lives and lifestyles of those being served.
  • Avoid potential pitfalls.
  • Build compelling solutions to problems and needs.
  • Connect personally.

Those are some of the qualities possessed by Carl Parson, Republican, who is running for State Representative, District 8.

Carl Parson has spent many years in his beloved community helping others.  He is a self-educated, plain spoken Christian man who believes in doing the right thing. He strives to put others first before himself.  He makes a habit of reaching out to the less fortunate and helping them with things they need.  He has a mind like a steel trap and believes strongly in building a better Oklahoma and District 8 for the entire community, his neighbors, friends and family.

Carl is the owner and founder of Inola Portable Buildings & Pole Barns.  Since 1999, his company has been a staple in the Inola community.  Carl grew up knowing the value of hard work and the meaning of building a life from the ground up.  At four years old his father was killed in a car accident, leaving his wife and children behind.  Times were tough and the family had difficulty making ends meet.  “During those years, my mother taught me the valuable lesson that the way out of poverty was to work your way out,” said Carl.  And that’s exactly what he did.

By age 11, Carl had his first job delivering newspapers in a rough Oklahoma City neighborhood.  He walked 34 blocks each day delivering the route with his dog Midnight, his black Labrador, and a Cocker Spaniel that joined them. Smiling, he said, “I was never afraid with my guardian dogs.”

From the time he began his company, he has operated his small business completely debt-free.  Today, his family has joined him in the business’ continued growth and success.  “I believe there are three foundations necessary for a community to thrive:  Biblical principles, a strong education system and individual freedoms,” said Carl.  “I know the value of a paycheck and believe in using taxpayer money to build our great state, not tear down our freedoms.”  He is a strong believer in the 2nd and 10th Amendments.

Carl and his wife Linda have been married for 39 years. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

Carl Parson promises to be a champion for Oklahoma businesses and support meaningful reforms that help to create quality jobs and opportunities for hard-working Oklahomans.  He understands the issues facing education and businesses in our State and has the experience needed to lead.  He is sensitive to the growth that District 8 must prepare for in the near future and will use his experience, utmost integrity, faith and family values to insure the best possible outcomes for residents and businesses in the district.

Election Day is June 26th.  Every issue is important and your vote will make a difference.
