Witches Night Out October 23

On October 23, Owasso's Countryside Flowers and Gifts is hosting Witches Night Out, a fun event that will get you in the Halloween spirit and offer great shopping deals.

It’s that time again; Halloween is just a few weeks away, and harvest celebrations and Thanksgiving will soon follow. Owasso’s Countryside Flowers and Gifts is ready to help you fill your home with beautiful florals, fragrances and fun as you welcome family and friends.

On October 23, the store is hosting Witches Night Out, a fun event that will get you in the Halloween spirit and offer great shopping deals.

Countryside offers gorgeous silk botanicals custom designed by Chris Brasino, making the store a favorite spot for decorators both amateur and professional. Other featured items include Yankee Candle Company Halloween fragrances, Harvest Kitchen cookbooks from Gooseberry Publishing and new Margarita jelly. It goes almost without saying that Countryside is a perfect place to find gifts for any occasion or holiday.

Countryside is known for its over-the-top approach to holidays, and you will see why before you even walk through the doors. The colorful window displays grab your attention and spark your imagination. Once inside, you are surrounded by the sights and scents of fall. An abundance of all things Halloween, harvest and Thanksgiving surround you. Owner Steve Baggett says he stocks a huge variety so that everyone can find something special for the season, no matter what their taste or budget. Vintage style Halloween decorations are extremely popular and a specialty at Countryside, but the shop also carries more contemporary designs. Fiber-optic witch hats and treat bags seem to be a favorite this year.

The store is also full of wonderful harvest and Thanksgiving decorations and gifts. The many styles of pilgrims and Native American figures will put the finishing touch on a holiday mantle or dining table.

Speaking of over-the-top, Baggett and his staff are hosting a Witches Night Out event at the store the evening of Thursday, October 23. Baggett says that all witches and warlocks are welcome for a night of light-hearted fun and lots of good shopping. All customers who arrive dressed the part will receive special discounts. The shopper with the very best witch or warlock costume will be awarded a $50 gift certificate, and his or her photo will be hung in the Countryside Hall of Horrors. Don’t worry about looking out of place; the Countryside gang will be in full attire too! Door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening, and Baggett said he will offer special “cut-throat discounts” available only during the event.

Connie Stewart, The Good Witch, notes that there will be plenty of front-door parking available for all brooms, and the best broom of the evening will receive a special award. You may encounter spooky surprises as you shop under the dim Halloween lighting and enjoy the bubbly spirits and tantalizing treats. Gwen Gurka, Keeper of the Spells, said she would be scared silly for their customers to miss this night of bargains. “It’s a great night to get your witchy girlfriends together. Leave the kids with Dad, hop on your brooms and zip on over for a cauldron full of fun.”

Witches Night Out will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 23. Countryside Flowers is located at 86th Street North and Highway 169 between Reasor’s and Big Lots. Baggett adds that there will be many special discounts throughout the evening, so plan to stay for a while. “You never know what might enchant you as you browse through the shop.”
