Stars On Stage is a program using theatre as a way to collaborate in mixed-ability groups, acting as a bridge between children with special needs and others in their peer group to put on a fully staged theatre production. Everyone deserves access to the arts. The Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center works to provide an environment that enables students with developmental disabilities and student peers to work together to develop trust and friendships. Together we create a community, brought together via the arts, to foster a culture of acceptance that lasts a lifetime. This program is for Broken Arrow students from third grade to graduated seniors up to the age of 22.
This year the Stars On Stage program will present Wizard of Oz Youth addition! Tech week is Monday, February 5, Tuesday, February 6, and Thursday, February 8, from 6-9 pm at the BAPAC. The production dates are February 9 and 10 at 6:30 pm and February 11 at 2:00 pm at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.
Step into a realm of wonder with BAPS Stars On Stage, where the brilliance of children with mixed abilities shines in a breathtaking theater journey. Experience the enchantment of inclusivity, where the stage transforms into a canvas for shared creativity, forging a community of acceptance. Join us in an extraordinary celebration of the arts accessible to all!
All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly back into the program.
