You Don’t Have to Get High to Get Help

At American Shaman Claremore, local resident and business owner Jonathan Dietrich is in the pain-relief business.

Make no mistake, Dietrich isn’t just another franchisee, he’s one of the product’s biggest advocates, because of his own personal experience.

“Basically, I used to be a welder – I went to Vo-Tech school for that and had a career in welding for several years. Over time, my back just got broken down, my knees started killing me, and one day, my boss suggested I give CBD a try,” Dietrich said. “This was about two years ago, so people weren’t as informed about it at the time as they are now, and I was a little uncertain – people didn’t really understand what CBD was yet – it was still kind of new.

“So I looked around, tried various brands, some of which worked better than others, and I came across American Shaman, and I tell you what, it wasn’t 10 minutes after I bought the bottle and tried it, I started getting relief – I was on the way home and hadn’t even made it home yet,” he said. “From then on, I started taking it every day, finding relief, and I eventually decided to go into business and offer other people the same kind of relief and help that I found.”

CBD or cannabidiol is a natural constituent of hemp oil which has shown to have had a potentially wide range of medical applications without some of the side effects common in other, nonorganic medications.

Although related to another medicinally active phytocannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol, (THC), CBD is the non-psychoactive component of hemp which does not have the same side effects, notably a sense of intoxication often associated with marijuana.

“Something we tell people who come to us is that they don’t have to get high to get help, and CBD will help them without getting them high,” he said. “One of the biggest misconceptions people have about the products are that they’ll get them high. They won’t.”

“What we sell (here) is CBD products – water-soluble CBD in particular – hemp-derived, of course, it’s not marijuana, but from the hemp plant,” said Dietrich, who co-owns American Shaman Claremore with his brother, Tony. “Our products are American-sourced, American-grown, and 100 percent organic, which is also something that kind of sets us apart from our competitors, who may use chemical emulsifiers in many brands.”

In addition to aiding in pain relief, CBD serves as an anti-inflammatory, it helps memory, reduces anxiety, relieves nausea, as well as helping people with pain relief, arthritis, headaches and much more, according to Dietrich.

“We have several customers with children who have seizures, or they have seizures themselves, and they’ll get the product and come back, telling us that the CBD works well in helping control those,” he said. “Some people have described it to me as a ‘miracle in a bottle.’”

Dietrich said CBD works on the cellular level, interacting with the human body through the endocannabinoid system, which regulates the body’s other systems in an attempt for natural homeostasis, Dietrich said.

“During the refining process of the products, the oil is made to be more bio-available and more readily available for our bodies to absorb,” he said. “What separates American Shaman from
our competition is the nanotechnology used in the (oil) refining process, allowing our product to have more absorption into your body and it lasts longer.”
