Each year across the nation, McDonald’s honors
outstanding employees. This year Carolyn Zumwalt was surprised to learn that she took the top honor in our four-state region.

She has worked as a hostess at the 12101 E. 96th St. North McDonald’s inside Wal-Mart, Owasso, for about five years, and has given new meaning to Lovin’ It! She tidies up tables and makes every soul feel welcome at the door. In her words, “I wipe tables, play with the kids and send them home with mama.”   She is professional, outgoing, and energetic with a charming personality.

Local restaurant owners, Tim and Patty Rich, are thrilled that Carolyn has been recognized for her outstanding service. “She came to work for us shortly after her husband had passed, and spending her time here has helped fill a void. She has been able to share and help others understand the

importance of going on and finding continued meaning in our lives. I’m so glad McDonald’s recognized her. People are what it’s all about, both employees and customers,” says Tim.
Recently, Carolyn said she had her very best day on the job. “A customer handed me this note before she left and it made my day. I keep it in my pocket every day as a reminder.”
Carolyn noted to Tim and Patty that she is thankful for their generosity and always making her feel so special. She really loves what she does and explains that the people are so nice and it’s a fun job.

Her prize money was a dandy $1,500 check. When asked what she would be doing with her winnings, she replied, “I plan on spreading the money around Owasso to help others.”
